ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR RAVI ARON was the keynote speaker at a management forum organized by the Thai Management Association. The topic was “Moving from Supply Chains to Demand Chains: How Technology Is Reinventing Global Supply Chains.” The forum was held in July in Bangkok, Thailand.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR TINGLONG DAI authored a research paper that finished second in the best-paper competition (in the area of health care operations management) at the Production and Operations Management Society’s 27th Annual Conference, held May 6-9, 2016, in Orlando, Florida.

The paper, “Clinical Ambiguity and Conflicts of Interest in Interventional Cardiology Decision-Making,” was written by lead author Dai, Assistant Professor Chao-Wei Hwang of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and Associate Professor Xiaofang Wang of Renmin University of China.

In addition, Dai’s paper “Automated Multilateral Negotiation on Multiple Issues with Private Information,” co-authored with Assistant Professor Ronghuo Zheng of the University of Texas at Austin, Professor Katia Sycara of Carnegie Mellon University, and Assitant Professor Nilanjan Chakraborty of Stony Brook University, was accepted for publication in INFORMS Journal on Computing.

“Impact of Inventory on Quota-Bo- nus Contracts With Rent Sharing,” by Dai and Associate Professor Kinshuk Jerath of Columbia University, was published in the January 2016 issue of Operations Research.

In April 2016, Dai was selected as a member of the editorial review board of Production and Operations Management.

PROFESSOR WILLIAM AGRESTI presented his paper “Models and Strategies for Effective Cybersecurity Spending” at the 11th Annual Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers/Association for Computing Machinery Professional Conference at the Trenton Computer Festival, held last March in Ewing, New Jersey.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR SANGHEE LIM was a co-author of the paper “Depression Screening Using Daily Mental-Health Ratings from a Smartphone Application for Breast Cancer Patients,” which was published in August in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.
